The Property
At the core of its design, Shelter will embrace and blend effortlessly into the natural landscape.
Constructed using locally sourced eco-friendly materials by local craftspeople, in the most energy efficient manner possible today, Shelter will be a carbon neutral community whose solar array enhances its self-sufficiency.
The idea was born out of a genuine desire to protect this extraordinarily scenic rural land and preserve its equestrian origin, while creating a community that is focused on sustainability, social responsibility and green-living practices.

Construction

We intend to renovate and repurpose many of the existing barns and stables and build alongside those structures in a way that will dovetail with the local architecture and vernacular yet, equally importantly, we plan to build using sustainable and environmentally friendly methods that will work to achieve not just carbon neutrality but carbon negativity.
Construction that is inspired by passive house engineering which utilizes biomaterials, cutting edge prefabrication techniques, harnessing wind, solar and geothermal, optimising state of the art water harvesting and sewage treatment, and using local materials and craftspeople, wherever possible.
